Marina Upgrades

As of January 2023, state legislation was passed to secure funding for improvements to the Lexington Marina, boardwalk, and surrounding facilities. Among other efforts, the project upgrades will include:

  • Dredging, and demolition of obsolete floating dockage and utilities.

  • Construction of new harbor dockage and an ADA-compliant gangway.

  • Much-needed improvements to the aging breakwater structure.

  • Installation of electrical, ice suppression, potable water, marine fuel, and pump-out systems.

  • Installation of a dry fire standpipe to improve emergency response times.

The plan would also integrate the adjacent Lexington Boardwalk Marina into the project in an effort to further expand recreation activities in the area.

Moore Public Library Renovations & Expansion

The Moore Public Library recently received a state grant for expansion and patrons will soon be able to enjoy more space. Earlier this year, the library board applied for the Revitalization and Placemaking program through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and was chosen to receive one of the ten awards. Private donations are being secured and fundraising efforts are being made to help cover the remainder of the project cost.

The Moore Public Library plans to expand into the vacant building next to it. The added space will allow the library to increase shelf space, add seating and computers, and create a new community room. Construction will include connecting the two buildings, installing an elevator, and updating plumbing and electricity wiring.
